Easter is the oldest and principal feast for Christians, memorializing the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a movable feast, and may fall at the earliest on March 22, but no later than 25th April. Week antecedent Easter is called Holy Week and is a time of remembrance prime Christian occurrences. The last three days of Holy Week (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday) are the Easter Triduum.
Easter is a time to participate in many church devotions and meetings in the family circle. Families get together at the generously laid tables to have Easter breakfast. The predominant and most common courses are the one prepared with eggs, as well as eggs themselves, which is sense Easter equivalent to the wafer which families share during the Christmas season.
